Liam is a qualified as a Certified Accountant in 1976 and was Irish President of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants in 1990.

ACCA is the second largest accountancy body in Ireland. 

1991 : Executive Development Programme at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Boston, USA.

1970 - 2003: Worked with Bank of Ireland Group. 

1982 – 1985: Senior Manager in Group Strategy Unit reporting directly to the incoming Group Chief Executive. 

1986 – 1990: Finance Director, Bank of Ireland Finance. 

1990 – 1998: Regional Manager with responsibility for all the Bank branches in the East of Ireland. 

1998 – 2000: Appointed Director for Group Savings & Investments. 

2000 – 2003: Head of Business Banking for the Irish business of the Bank.

2003 to Date: Consultant to various professional practices in the construction industry and Finance Director of O’Mahony Pike Architects since 2005.

Member of Beaumont Hospital Board from 2003 to 2006 and Chairman of the Hospital Finance Committee.

Board Member of Horse Racing Ireland’s Property Committee and Navan Racecourse. Retried from Leopardstown Board in 2005. 

Appointed in 2007 by the President to the Irish Financial Service Appeals Tribunal.
