Orlaith was Project Manager on the delivery of Adamstown SDZ with SDCC, which won both Irish Planning Institute Town Planning Excellence Award 2005, and the European Council of Spatial Planning Urban Design Excellence Award 2005.
Cork South Docks (With Brady Shipman Martin)
The Cork South Docks Local Area Plan was prepared to realise the vision of the Cork Docklands Development Stategy prepared in 2001. The South Docks provide a unique opportunity for the developments of Cork City. The area extends from Custom House Quay at the eastern end of the city centre along the Marina to Blackrock. This opportunity translated into the proposed creation of a vibrant, innovative, mixed use, sustainable, socally inclusive, urban quarter, enabling the City to compete at a national and international level. Draft submitted November 2007.
A Maserplan for a mixed-used development of a decentralised offices and 1000 units in Kildare Town. The Public consultation has just been completed and this project will reinstate a new town quarter and community.
Drogheda North Environs Masterplan:
OMP with Dermot Foley Landscape Architects prepared a Masterplan for the North Drogheda Envions in January of 2006. The brief was to develope a spatial Masterplan follwing the Local Area Paln adopted in 2004. The Area provides for a wide range of uses including the development of three new residential neighbourhood to cater for a population of 20,000 people on an area extending to 223 hectares, located approximately 2km north of Drogheda town centre. The Masterpaln responded to teh form of the landscape typologies and character, including The Demesne landscapes, Industrial landscapes and Hydrology, Completed January 2006.
The Masterplan for 30 acres was prepared by O'Mahony Pike Architects + Urban Desingers to out-line the various options that may be open to CIE should they wish to develope their lands at Boasrdstone Station. It explored the scale and massing of the various proposals and the resultant traffic and pedestrian links of this Mixed Use Development Draft submitted November 2005.
DoEHLG Design Guidance Document:
Orlaith was the Director in charge of the preparation of the "Sustainable residental design + A best practice guide" to accompany the review of the DEHLG Residential Density guidelines. It is the criteria based design guide for sustainable residental communities. Draft submitted December 2007.
OMP leads a team of Metworks, Feilden Clegg Bradley, ARUP and other to be runners up in the Grangegorman Masterplan competition to integrate the DIT and HSE developments and community in a new city precinct for Dublin in 2007.
