For over 50 years the practice has been particularly focused on promoting innovative and sustainable residential design, a vital area of development that does not always receive the attention of designers that it warrants and deserves. To ensure we are acquainted with best practice, OMP organise annual office visits throughout Europe to understand how our neighbours are resolving housing design and delivery issues and learning from their experiences.
OMP’s knowledge of commercial, high density residential and leisure design added to our urban design masterplanning experience has given us a wide ranging understanding of how to deliver maximum value for our clients in urban settings and on challenging regeneration sites.
The practice sees Urban Design Masterplanning as an essential discipline for all our architects and we have prepared plans from the Village scale to City extensions. To us Architecture is not just about buildings, it’s also about humane places. We wish to say to our clients that we understand the value and quality of the places where we live and work and we can create a new built environment that is enduring, practical and sustainable.
Many of our most successful projects have resulted from Design Competition successes. The practice regards participation in competitions as critical to improving and expanding our design skills and knowledge which in turn benefits both clients and end users.
Commercial Office design is part of our urban experience and in terms of scale; we have completed projects for large corporations as well as smaller speculative developers. As the digital revolution restructures our working needs and environments, OMP liaise with specialist consultants to understand the latest research and deliver enduring solutions.
