Ferndene is a new 83 bed Nursing Home on a leafy suburban site where once stood a fine late Georgian Villa. The layout of the complex respects the past and proposes a resurrected  Ferndene House on the footprint of the original building as the central focus and hub with two residential wings, one on either side of a landscaped entrance courtyard.

The new house will form the central organising element of the nursing home and includes the main entrance, the reception area and the visitor rooms.  This building will also house all the administrative and shared common rooms.

Other facilities include assisted daily living training suites, a gymnasium, a games room communal dining areas and smaller social areas to facilitate a homely and supportive environment. Health care design standards are compliant with the latest HIQA regulations and the finishes specifications promote a higher than average level of comfort and care.

The majority of existing mature trees on the site have been retained and reinforce the landscape plan that includes for secluded walks, sensory gardens and quiet outdoor amenity spaces.
